Overview

from anthropology to engineering to management consulting…

Since noticing that many of the same principles can be used to study fields as different as wildlife biology and pharmaceutical manufacturing, I’ve been interested in how large scale business systems function, and in figuring out what strategies can be used to optimize and expand them.
Through positions in management consulting, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and conservation research, I’ve combined my love of statistics with my humanities-oriented academic background in order to solve complex problems both individually and as part of a team.

 

Experience

Manager, Process Intelligence — Ashling Partners, Remote

June 2021 - Present

  • Leads process mining engagements, from initial pitches and SOW creation to define overall process mining strategy, coordinate consultants, identify business improvement opportunities, and lead executive readouts

  • UiPath and Celonis process mining across telecom, healthcare, manufacturing, and financial services industries, enabling savings of up to $50M per project

  • Supervises a team of consultants, managing employee productivity, delivering upskilling and personal growth training, and driving productization of process mining connectors and dashboards.

Senior Consultant — Cognizant technology solutions, Minneapolis MN

January 2019 - June 2021

  • Supervised direct reports, developed project expansion strategies at client site, and led consulting team meetings. Cognizant Consulting footprint at client grew from two billable associates to 13 over the course of multiple projects

  • Advised client on strategy and implementation of big data solutions in Hadoop and SAP HANA to redesign analytics approach for finance and supply chain planning across a $25B business unit

  • Led integration on order to cash digital transformation project for large healthcare client, coordinated with business stakeholders on updates/modernization for 120+ applications, improving order flow process and reducing technical debt.

  • Identified and prioritized business requirements during planning and development of digital learning website/portal affecting over 120,000 client employees and contractors as an Agile BA/Product Owner

  • Defined use cases for cutting-edge machine learning system in agricultural risk management by analyzing business requirements and coordinating with consultants, client stakeholders, and data scientists

process engineer — Virbac Animal Health, Bridgeton MO

November 2017 - January 2019

  • Led initiative to implement statistical process control (SPC), trend charting, and lean manufacturing principles in Industrial Operations and Quality Control departments, affecting manufacturing efficiency of ~$40MM of product annually

  • Led team of four to identify root causes of manufacturing variation in new product line, allowing company to successfully complete strategic initiative to launch new parasiticide product ahead of competitors

  • As part of validation of automated paste packaging line, identified critical process parameters, wrote operating procedures, and trained personnel on operation of new equipment, resulting in approximately 25% decrease in production lead times

Quality assurance auditor — virbac animal health, bridgeton mo

January 2015 - Present

  • Hired on part-time basis, converted to full time Quality Auditor I position in Feb. 2016, promoted to Quality Auditor II in Jan. 2017, promoted to Process Engineer in Nov. 2017

  • Created standardized process for recording and analyzing quality systems / manufacturing data across entire St. Louis site, providing detailed tracking of quality levels and lead times on roughly $40MM worth of product annually

  • Led project to overhaul manufacturing documentation to current industry standards for all liquid products (105 documents over 14 product lines) manufactured at St. Louis facility, contributing to 40% decrease in regulatory compliance issues from previous quarter

  • Recognized by Director of Quality with Team Compass Award for providing quality oversight and data analysis as part of cross functional team which succeeded in decreasing site corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) by 32%

January 2015 - Present

  • Co-authored "Macaques can contribute to greener practices in oil palm plantations when used as biological pest control" published in Current Biology

  • Performed statistical analysis of two years' worth of data on primate impact to commercial oil palm plantation yields and regional human-wildlife conflicts, securing funding through the Rufford Small Grant Foundation

  • Served as camp manager of remote jungle site by training five research assistants, overseeing record keeping, and managing research sample storage
